EWB WESTERN
Chapters are the beating heart of EWB. Across Canada chapter members are taking thoughtful and strategic actions to create profound social change in their universities, companies, and communities.
EWB Western is a student organization at Western University. We are a vibrant community of students, professionals, and fellows, with a unique approach to global development – addressing root causes to create lasting change. The Western chapter is also one of 39 across Canada working together to eradicate systemic poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa.
At EWB Western, we have eight portfolios: Agricultural Innovation, Climate Change, Sustainable Sourcing, Identity-Based Equity, Political Advocacy, Youth Engagement, Impact Design, and Wellness. We also have two large-scale projects: Western Engineering Waste Management and Advocating to End Child Marriages.
We host three flagship events: the Run to End Poverty (R2EP), Pumpkin Drop, and Fair Trade Campus Week. We also attend the Annual National Conference and Southwestern Ontario Retreat (S.W.O.R), in which EWBers from several chapters come together for fun and inspiring weekends.
